SPECIFICATION: Omniwaste ABS to BS 5255 WASTE SYSTEMS FIXING GUIDE
Install and test system in accordance with BS 5572.
- Fix pipe brackets at maximum 1.2m centres vertical and at maximum 0.5m centres horizontal.
- For solvent weld installations incorporate expansion ring seal couplings at relevant points for long pipe runs.
- It is recommended that ABS and Polypropylene waste systems where externally installed be protected against prolonged exposure to sunlight with exterior gloss paint.
- For solvent weld systems ensure the pipe is cut square, and all swarf is removed. Apply solvent cement evenly to both surfaces of joint, insert pipe fully into the socket depth and remove surplus cement with a cloth. Allow five minutes to set before handling and twelve hours before testing system.
