Omnico given Industry green light for training

Omnico, the leading plastics specialist has won the Training Initiative of the Year Award at the Builders' Merchants Awards for Excellence 2002.

Held at The Savoy Hotel, London it was the first staging of the Builders' Merchants Awards for Excellence.

Chris Hayward, Managing Director, NMBS and judge at the awards said:

"Omnico Plastics made a big investment in achieving what it set out to do for a company of its size. It also set clear, identifiable goals on a traffic-light basis."

Last year Omnico carried out 130 man days of training and the year to date figure is over 100 with many more scheduled for December and January. In addition to the training days, Omnico currently have 70 staff on a distance learning product course.

Colin Evans, Managing Director, Omnico said:
